Galle Gallants today announced a new chapter in the franchise’s journey, confirming its ownership under Gallant Sports and Media LLC ahead of Lanka Premier League Season 6, scheduled to take place from July 10 to August 5, 2026.
Led by Kiran Mantripragada and Uday Kiran Namballa, Gallant Sports and Media LLC will guide the franchise’s cricketing, commercial and media strategy as it prepares to compete in one of Sri Lanka’s leading sporting platforms. The franchise has also confirmed the appointment of Pubudu Dassanayake as Head Coach, bringing experienced cricketing leadership into the team’s preparations for the upcoming season.
The new ownership marks an important step for Galle Gallants as the Lanka Premier League continues to strengthen its competitive, broadcast and commercial footprint. Season 6 is expected to bring together a strong pool of local and international players, while creating wider value across tourism, media, sponsorship, hospitality and fan engagement.

Galle Gallants will participate in LPL Season 6 within the league ecosystem operated via the Innovative Production Group FZ, LLC platform, under urban-gro, Inc. and Flash Sports & Media, Inc. The franchise will operate independently under Gallant Sports and Media LLC, while aligning with the wider league structure and commercial opportunities created through the 2026 season.

As part of its squad-building strategy, Galle Gallants is assessing a strong mix of Sri Lankan talent and international marquee players ahead of the LPL Season 6 auction. International names under consideration include David Warner, Kane Williamson, Saqib, Sahibzada Farhan, Sunil Narine and Rahmanullah Gurbaz. Final player acquisitions will be subject to auction outcomes, player registration, contractual arrangements, relevant board approvals and required No Objection Certificates.
The franchise has also brought in Roy Silva, a Sri Lankan-born American cricketer, as Strategic Partner and Chief Operating Officer, supporting the ownership team’s focus on local participation, operational planning and long-term franchise development. Sharath Sriramoju will lead marketing and strategic initiatives as Chief Strategy Officer, with a focus on strengthening the Galle Gallants brand across cricket, media, sponsorship and fan engagement.

The Galle Gallants ownership team stated that the franchise will focus on building a sustainable cricket and sports media asset, supported by performance, community connection and commercial partnerships.
