Sri Lankan fast bowlers are set to miss the upcoming Abu Dhabi T10 League

Four Sri Lankan fast bowlers are set to miss the upcoming Abu Dhabi T10 League, scheduled to start on the 28th of November.

Following the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup, Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) has reportedly taken this stance to give a break to the Lankan seam contingent of Lahiru Kumara, Matheesha Pathirana, Dilshan Madushanka and Dushmantha Chameera.

Whilst Kumara and Pathirana have still not completed their rehabilitation process, having sustained injuries during the World Cup, Madushanka and Chameera have been asked to withdraw from the seventh edition of the Abu Dhabi T10 League.

Leg-spinning all-rounder Wanindu Hasaranga, who missed the ICC Cricket World Cup due to an injury, will also miss the Abu Dhabi T10 League after undergoing surgery.

Left-arm fast bowler Dilshan Madhushanka, who showcased an outstanding performance during the World Cup, capturing 21 wickets in 9 games, was set to play for Team Abu Dhabi whilst Matheesha Pathirana and Lahiru Kumara were slated to represent Bangla Tigers and New York Strikers respectively.

Following the player draft of the tournament, 14 Sri Lankans secured spots in different teams. Apart from the initially drafted Sri Lankans, Niroshan Dickwella has also been named in the final player list for the New York Strikers as a replacement.
