6 National Para Athletes have been selected to participate at the Dubai 2021 Grand Prix = Fazza International Para Athletics Championship, which will commence on the 10th of February 2021.

The event, like the rest of the Grand Prix season, was cancelled in 2020 due to COVID-19. This is the fourth consecutive time that the Fazza International Championships will open the Grand Prix series.

This event will act as a qualifying tournament for the 2021 Tokyo Paralympics.

Team Sri Lanka will be represented by 6 athletes in total, 2 Women’s and 4 Men’s contenders. Sri Lanka’s best performing Para Athlete Dinesh Priyantha Herath will compete in the Javelin Throw event but has already booked his place in the 2021 Tokyo Paralympic Games.

Team Sri Lanka – Dinesh Priyantha(Javelin), Amara Indumathi(Long Jump, 400m), Kumudu Priyanka (Long Jump, 100m), Gamini Ekanayake (Javelin), Saman Subasinghe (400m), Palitha Bandara (Put shot), Sampath Hettiarachchi (Javelin), Nuwan Indika (Long Jump), Samitha Dulan (Javelin – Already qualified for the Paralympics), Buddika Indrapala (Long Jump).
