The second unofficial Test between Sri Lanka ‘A’ and England Lions continued for day two today (08th February) at Galle International Cricket Stadium.
Sri Lanka ‘A’ resumed their first innings on day two at 190/3 with Croospulle (122*) and Dhananjaya (14*) remaining unbeaten at the crease.

Their partnership didn’t last long as Croospulle departed for 128 runs as the first wicket of the day. The hosts lost 3 quick wickets in the morning session being restricted to 219/6. But, the skipper Dhananjaya and Lakshitha Manasinghe revived the innings adding a 47-run partnership for the 7th wicket before the former was dismissed for a well-compiled 61 runs.
Manasinghe and Lasith Embuldeniya provided late impetus to the innings with crucial knocks of 43 & 42 respectively as Sri Lanka ‘A’ posted 332 for their first innings. Josh Tongue was the pick of the bowlers for the visitors as he bagged 5 wickets for 76 runs.

Sri Lanka started pretty well with the ball picking up 2 quick wickets in the first 3 overs as seamers Vishwa Fernando and Chamika Karunaratne struck early putting the visitors onto the backfoot. However, the opening batter Alex Lees and No. 4 batter Josh Bohannon rescued their innings building a 105-run partnership for the 3rd wicket.
Lees continued to pile on the runs adding another century stand with the wicket-keeper batter Jamie Smith as the visitors ended the second day’s play in a dominant position at 234/3. The England Lions continue the ‘Bazball’ approach in this Test as well scoring at 6.68 runs per over.
