Lankan Lions Roar: 6 Medals Claimed, 4 Golds Among Them

The 2024 International Para Athletic Grand Prix kicked off its first edition in Dubai, called the Fazza Grand Prix. Sri Lankan athletes made an impressive mark, clinching a total of 6 medals, including 4 golds.

The games kicked off on the 12th of February and saw its completion on the 15th of February, Nuwan Indika and Paralympic medalist Dinesh Priyantha won three gold medals on the 14th. Also, 3 other medals were won by Srilankan athletes on the ultimate day of the games.

Saman Subasinghe clocked a staggering 51.12 seconds to complete his main event, the 400m race, in the T45/47/62 category, securing the gold medal

Meanwhile, Anil Prasanna Jaylath clocked 13.05 seconds to secure the silver medal in the T42/63 Category 100m dash, followed closely by Buddika Indrapala, who timed 13.15 seconds in the same event.

With that, Srilanka won 4 gold medals, a silver medal and a bronze medal to finish this edition on a high. All the Srilankan participants won a medal, which was the highlight of the games.
