Kingswood College, Kandy registered a thrilling win over Dharmaraja College, Kandy to clinch the 35th Annual Limited Overs Encounter between the sides played yesterday (31st March), at Pallekele.
After winning the toss, Kingswood College opted to bat first and posted 233 runs for 9 wickets in the allotted 50 overs courtesy of Kavija Gamage’s brilliant century. Gamage scored 102 runs off 124 balls with 13 fours and a six.
Dakshitha Manukalpa was the pick of the bowlers for Dharmaraja College as he grabbed 4 wickets for 38 runs in his 10-over spell.
In reply, Dharmaraja College came close to cross over the line, but fell short of just 9 runs. Pulindu Perera (82) and Isuru Pannala (64) stroked valiant half-centuries.
