Ahead of the Singer Schools Rugby League that will kick off next year, Dharmaraja College Kandy has made a key change in their coaching division. 

Former Isipathana College coach Lasintha De Costa will take charge as head coach of the side that recently got their promotion ticket to the ‘A’ division following their success in the Plate championship this year.

A Sri Lanka fifteens national representative, Lasintha was a prolific player during his time and was a stand out fly-half for Sri Lanka. Taking up coaching, he has had successful stints with Isipathana College over the last 4 years.

Lasintha was also in charge of the Sri Lanka Under 19 side in 2017 alongside Rajeev Perera.

The league champions in 2013, Dharmaraja College are up with a new challenge when they make it to the 2020 Singer Schools Rugby League.

Alongside Costa, former national cap Buddhika Abeysinghe will continue as the assistant coach, focusing on the forwards. A product of Vidyartha, Buddhika has had a successful stint with Trinity before joining Dharmaraja.

The Singer Schools Rugby League for 2020 is set to kick off in March next year.
