Sri Lanka Cricket Data Analyst tests positive for Covid-19

The Data Analyst of the Sri Lanka men’s national cricket team, G. T. Niroshan has tested positive for Covid-19 virus. 

Niroshan was found to be positive for Covid-19, following the PCR tests carried out among the national players, coaches and support staff of the team yesterday (08th July).

This is the second member of the Coaching Staff who has tested positive as Sri Lanka batting coach Grant Flower tested positive for Covid-19 yesterday.

Niroshan is now undergoing due medical protocols. The Sri Lankan contingent including all the players and support staff have been placed in strict quarantine until Sunday (11th July) after which they will undergo another PCR test. 

However, it is reported that Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) has decided to go ahead with the limited overs series against India which is set to begin on the 13th of July.
