The 19th Battle of the Golds between D.S. Senanayake College and Mahanama College commenced today (9th May) at SSC Grounds, Colombo.
After winning the toss, Mahanama College opted to bat first and posted 235 runs in 78 overs with Thaviru Perera and Gimantha Dissanayake top scoring with 77 and 56 respectively.

Perera and Dissanayake displayed a brilliant rescue act for Mahanama College sharing a 137-run partnership for the 9th wicket.
Shanel Binushka was outstanding with the ball for D.S. Senanayake College as he claimed 5 wickets for 65 runs.
In reply, D.S. Senanayake College made 13 runs for no loss at the close of play on Day 1.
