The much-anticipated SLC Premier League Tournament 2014/15 commenced on 16th January around Colombo and its suburbs as six three-day encounters got underway to restart the most prestigious Lankan domestic tournament for the new season.
NCC opening batsman Niroshan Dickwella smashed the first century of the tournament when he stroked an unbeaten 175 on the opening match day against Badureliya SC. Sri Lanka ODI discarded middle order batsman and skipper of SL Ports Authority CC, Ashan Priyanjan started off his campaign with another one of his trademark 70* against CCC. Left-arm spinner Malinda Pushpakumara (SL Ports), off-spinner Tharindu Kaushal (NCC) and all-rounder Dilhara Lokuhettige (Moors) captured five wickets apiece for their respective clubs.
