Three national level squash players including current National Champion, Ravindu Laksiri, will carry Sri Lanka at the Chieng Mai Cup 2019, held in Bangkok Thailand. The competition is scheduled to commence on the 2nd of May.

The Chieng Mai Cup is played in the “Jumbo’s Double’’ format where only Doubles events will be in the curriculum. This year, the tournament has added a Masters draw for the very first time to compliment the usual Open Men’s, Women’s and Mixed doubles draws. Each draw will be capped at 32 teams on a first come first serve basis.

Current National Champion and Island Rank No.1, Ravindu Laksiri will be heading to Bangkok for his first ever Chieng Mai Cup experience. Accompanying him will be National Men’s rank No.2, Shameel Wakeel and representing the Women, Ruwangi Wijekulasuriya.

While the draws of the tournament have not been announced yet, Laksiri and Wakeel are paired up to take the Open Men’s Doubles. Laksiri will also participate in the Mixed Doubles category partnering Ruwangi Wijekulasuriya.
