Sri Lanka Women’s Cricket Captain Chamari Atapaththu has signed with Northern Brave for the upcoming Women’s Super Smash 2023/24 season in New Zealand.
The inaugural edition of the 6-team tournament was held in the 2007-08 season, and the Northern Brave is the only team that has not won a single tournament so far.

Athapaththu, who is the second leading run scorer in the ongoing WBBL 2023, was in fantastic form with both bat and ball as she smashed 451 runs in 10 innings while picking up 8 wickets for Sydney Thunder, who are currently sitting on third in the points table.

The 17th edition of the Women’s Super Smash T20 League organized by New Zealand Cricket, will be played from the 19th of December to the 28th of January.
