Moors SC, Galle CC and Tamil Union C & AC recorded excellent outright victories on Valentine’s Day in their SLC Premier League – Super Eight Tournament 2015/16 matches played in Colombo.

Galle vs Ragama
After being 85 for 1 overnight, Galle CC coasted to a stunning 5-wicket win over Ragama CC in their match which concluded on Sunday at SSC grounds.
Seasoned campaigner, Chamara Silva made a belligerent and unbeaten 168-ball 158 including 21 fours and 2 sixes as the team from down south chased down 388 comfortably to notch up a memorable win.

Ragama – 344 all out in 100 overs: Lahiru Thirimanne 153, Roshene Silva 77, Lahiru Milantha 35, Charitha Buddhika 5/57, Gayan Sirisoma 2/112.

Galle – 209 all out in 51 overs: TN Sampath 68, Harsha Vithana 39, Amila Aponso 5/37, Sanjaya Fernando 3/66.

Ragama (2nd inn) – 252 all out in 69.2 overs: Sameera Zoysa 82, Udara Jayasundara 71, Gayan Sirisoma 4/40.

Galle (2nd inn) – 388/5 in 114.4 overs: TN Sampath 33, Damitha Hunukumbura 63, Chamara Silva 158*, Navindu Nirmal 69*.


SSC vs Tamil Union
Skipper Suranga Lakmal and off-spinner Dhananjaya De Silva shared 7 wickets as Tamil Union registered a mammoth 314-run win over SSC in their game at Moors grounds.

The team from Maitland Place were 57 for no loss at stumps on day three but on day four, Tamil Union took all of their 10 wickets to end the game by Tea. Opener Dimuth Karunarathne retaliated with a knock of 95 but it was not enough to stop Tamil Union, who set a daunting target of 610 on day three.

Moors vs NCC
Excellent bowling performance helped Moors beat NCC by 23 runs in a closely-contested game played at Colts grounds.

After day three action, NCC were well placed on 97 for 2 in pursuit of 235 but left-arm spinner Chathuranga De Silva and Kaushalya Gajasinghe completely turned the game on its head as they shared 6 wickets to dismantle the strong NCC batting lineup.
