Hayleys Group ‘A’ were crowned champions of the Singer-MCA Super Premier T20 League 2025 after pulling off a nail-biting 5-run victory over CDB ‘A’ in the grand final held today (2nd November) at CCC Grounds, Colombo.
After being asked to bat first, Hayleys were restricted to 127 runs, as CDB’s bowlers kept things tight throughout. Sadeera Samarawickrama (33) and Ramesh Mendis (29) made vital contributions to help their side reach a defendable total.

Isitha Wijesundara was outstanding with the ball for CDB, claiming 4 wickets for 24 runs, playing a key role in limiting the opposition.
Chasing 128 for victory, CDB found themselves in a tense battle as Hayleys’ bowlers executed their plans to perfection. Despite a fighting knock of 48 runs by opener Shevon Daniel, CDB fell just short, bowled out for 122 runs.
The spin duo of Ramesh Mendis and Ravindu Fernando turned the tide in Hayleys’ favour, both picking up 3 wickets each to seal a dramatic win and secure the title.
