The Council for Business with Britain (CBB) will be organizing its annual Inter Sport Triangular (Cricket, Netball and Badminton) for the fifteenth consecutive year, on the 31st of October 2015 at P Saravanamuttu Stadium (Oval).

This event will bring together many corporates from the business fraternity onto the playing field.

MAS Holdings has come forward to support the event as the principal sponsor, with Qatar Airways, Hilton Colombo Residences and AIA Insurance Lanka PLC as co-sponsors. Douglas Aceiro, Chairman of the Organising Committee has added many new aspects to this year’s event including media coverage by Dialog Channel C and Papare.com

Shirendra Lawrence, Chairman of CBB, expects adequate funds to be raised to finance their English Language Teacher Training project initiated nine years ago. The CBB / ELT project is managed by the British Council and conducted in collaboration with the National Institute of Education and the Ministry of Education. Its primary objective is to upgrade the English language skills of pupils in schools throughout Sri Lanka. This is achieved by building the capacity of local English teachers so that they deliver lessons that are more effective. Over 1000 teachers have been trained through this programme which in turn has had an impact on more than 150,000 students across the island.

The organising body of this event and project which is the Council for Business with Britain (CBB) was established in July 2000 with an objective to enhance promotion of two way trade between Sri Lanka and the UK and to maintain and foster a harmonious business relationship between the two countries. The CBB has a diverse membership of around 150 companies, making it one of Colombo’s most prestigious networking business associations.

The official CBB Sixes draw for the three sporting events was held at the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce, at Nawam Mawatha, Colombo on the 20th of October 2015.
