The annual Carlton Cup basketball tournament finals will be played on Saturday at Henry Pediris Stadium. The tournament that continued for more than a month will come to an end with defending champions HSC Blues taking on former champions Colombo BC.
The leading teams in local basketball meet for the fifth time in a Carlton Cup finals and the inclusion of overseas players this season has added glamour to the event.
There are also several other finals lined up for the day with the events getting underway with the Boys’ under-14 final between Lyceum International School, Nugegoda and Gateway College, Rajagiriya.
Lyceum, Nugegoda and Lyceum, Wattala will clash in the girls’ final while the Three on Three under-19 boys’ final will be between Gateway College and St. Joseph’s College. Presbyterian Girls’ School will take on Visakha Vidyalaya in the girls’ final.
Moratuwa BC play Buffaloes Blacks in the ‘B’ Division final. The grand final between Colombo BC and HSC Blues is scheduled for 7:00pm.
