SLC Board XI go down fighting to Bangladesh in warm-up game

Bangladesh Women’s Team registered a 27-run win over SLC Board President’s Women XI in the 50-over warm-up game played today (27th April) at CCC Grounds in Colombo.

Sri Lankan skipper Sathya Sandeepani won the toss and invited Bangladesh team to take the first lease of the wicket. The decision turned out to be gold as they could restrict the visitors to 116 runs in 38.1 overs.

Madushika Meththananda, Malki Madara and Tharuka Shehani starred with the ball for the hosts picking up 2 wickets each. In reply, SLC Board XI also faltered with the bat falling 27 runs short of the target.

Umesha Thimashini and Piumi Wathsala top scored for the host with scores of 24 and 19* respectively while Meththananda who starred with the ball early in the day, showed his all-round skills contributing with 18 runs with the bat.

Fahima Khatun was the wrecker in chief with the ball for the visitors as she picked up 4 wickets for 22 runs.
