Sri Lanka U19 bounced back with a much-needed win over Bangladesh U19 in the 5th match of the six-match Youth ODI series played today (5th May) at SSC Grounds, Colombo. However, the visitors still lead the series, 3-2.

After winning the toss, Sri Lanka opted to bat first but didn’t manage to put on an impressive show as they were bundled out for just 196 runs.

The wicket-keeper batter Aadham Hilmy was the top scorer for the hosts as he made 51 runs off 59 balls with 7 fours and a six. The skipper Vimath Dinsara also contributed with crucial 42 runs in the middle-order.

Samiun Basir was the pick of the bowlers for the visitors as he bagged 3 wickets for 35 runs.

Though 197 didn’t look like a challenging target on paper, Sri Lanka put on a brilliant bowling effort to defend this target and stay alive in the series.
