Bangladesh skipper Najmul Hossain Shanto won the toss and elected to bat first against Sri Lanka in the second Test match which started at SSC Grounds, Colombo on Wednesday.

The hosts, Sri Lanka were forced to make two changes to their team from the 1st Test with 24-year-old debutant Sonal Dinusha replacing the retired Angelo Mathews, who bid adieu to Test cricket following the Galle Test match. Dinusha averages 40+ in 48 first-class games and can bowl left-arm spin as well.

Left-arm seamer Vishwa Fernando comes into the side for the injured Milan Rathnayake. He strained his left side whilst bowling during the Galle Test.

Mehidy Hasan Miraz, who missed the 1st Test due to fever, has returned to the side replacing wicketkeeper Jaker Ali. Litton Das is expected to take gloves for the visitors. Seamer Ebadot Hossain comes into the side as seamer Hasan Mahamud is out with a shoulder injury.

The first Test match ended in a draw in Galle.
