Badureliya on the brink of a memorable win

NCC ended day 2 with a lead of just 57 runs and 1 wicket in hand after another brilliant spell of left arm spin bowling by Duvindu Tillakaratne.

Badureliya SC resuming on their overnight score of 187/3 went on to make 330 all out thanks to half centuries on day two by senior player’s Nadeera Nawela and Sahan Wijeratne. Nawela hit 10 fours and 2 sixes in his knock of 86 while Wijeratne hit 7 fours and a six in his 79.

Tharindu Kaushal got the price wicket of Nawela and cleaned up the Badureliya SC tail to end up with a five wicket haul while Chathuranga De Silva picked up four wickets for NCC.

None of the NCC batsmen managed to capitalize on their starts as NCC failed to impress with the bat in their 2nd innings ending day 2 on 202/9 with a slender lead of 57 runs.  Lahiru Udara, Pawan Wickramasinghe and Nimesha Gunasinghe reached the 30 run mark but could not kick on as D. Tillakaratne picked up his 2nd five wicket haul of the game to register his maiden ten wicket haul in first class cricket.
