Air Force Sports Club beat the Peterite’s by 69 points to 54 in another A Division match which was worked off at the Henry Pediris Courts today. Dishan Wille led the winning team while Jared Fernando captained the Peterite’s.

Air Force team took control of the game from the very first quarter of the game itself. The Peterite’s had plenty of scoring opportunities which they failed to converted into points. This made it the Air Force task quite easy as they capitalized on every loophole of the opponents and converted them into match winning points. Once the forces were set with the pace of the game points just kept on coming onto the scoreboard as it was clearly an entire team effort from them. With just minutes before half time the scores read in favour of the Air Force team with 38 points to 25.

With a healthy lead of 13 points the forces had very little to do after the break and they continued to play according to the game plan. Skipper Dishan Willie top scored for the winning side with 24 points. It could be said he controlled the entire second half, running the Peterites ragged. However the Peterites did make a come back in the third and the final quarter of the match, but this was not sufficient to cover the deficit of  a thirteen point lead that they had already given the Air Force players at half time. Lakshan Samarasinghe played a crucial role for the Peterites as he helped them narrow down the scores to 69-54 at the final whistle. Lakshan top scored for the losers with 21 points.
