Five matches of the SLC Major Club 50 Over Tournament 2026 were completed today (30th August), with Colts Cricket Club, Tamil Union Cricket & Athletic Club, Nondescripts Cricket Club (NCC), Ace Capital Cricket Club and Bloomfield Cricket & Athletic Club securing victories in their respective encounters.
NCC registered a comfortable win over Badureliya Sports Club in their Group B encounter played at Maggona, with several players making significant contributions to the victory.

Lahiru Udara, Sahan Arachchige and Niroshan Dickwella produced valuable half-centuries with the bat, while Shakthi Udara starred with the ball, picking up four wickets to play a pivotal role in NCC’s comprehensive win.
Meanwhile, Colts CC recorded a convincing victory over BRC in their Group B encounter at the Colts Grounds in Colombo.
The national-capped off-spinner Akila Dananjaya and left-arm seamer Dilshan Madushanka led a strong bowling effort for Colts, claiming three wickets apiece to restrict BRC to just 184 runs.
Colts then chased down the target with ease, with Shalin De Mel and Randunu Ganganath scoring half-centuries to guide their side to a comfortable victory.
The Group A encounter between Tamil Union C & AC and Nugegoda S & WC was another eye-catching contest, with Tamil Union completing a successful chase with 20 overs to spare.
Chasing a modest target of 216 runs, Tamil Union reached the target in just 30 overs, despite losing seven wickets along the way.
Tamil Union’s opening pair of Thanuka Dabare and Sineth Jayawardene set the tone for the run chase with a blistering 93-run partnership off just 51 balls for the first wicket.
Dabare led the charge with a superb 65 off 39 deliveries, which included 5 fours and 6 sixes, while Jayawardene provided excellent support with a quickfire 42 off 21 balls, hitting 8 fours and a six.
