After winning the toss, New Zealand Women’s ‘A’ elected to bat first and posted 129/6 in their allotted 20 overs. Sri Lanka’s bowlers produced a disciplined performance, with Sachini Nisansala, Sathya Sandeepani and Chamudi Praboda claiming two wickets apiece to restrict the visitors to a manageable total.

In reply, Sri Lanka Women’s ‘A’ were tested throughout the chase but held their nerve to reach the target in the final over with three wickets in hand. Opening batter Vishmi Gunaratne top-scored for the hosts with a valuable knock of 27 runs at the top of the order.
Rashmika Sewwandi then played a crucial finishing role with a quick-fire 26 off just 16 deliveries, striking three fours and a six to guide Sri Lanka over the line in a tense finish.
