Old Joes Hockey Club etched their name in Colombo hockey history by clinching the B-Division title of the Colombo Hockey League 2025 — going through the entire season unbeaten.
Displaying consistency and grit, they recorded victories over Colombo Colts CC, Old Wesleyites Sports Club, Gymkhana, Old Bens Sports Club, Royal College Hockey Club, CR & FC and Old Thomians’ Hockey Union.

What makes this triumph even more remarkable is its backstory. Just last year, Old Joes lifted the C-Division crown. Now, with consecutive promotions, they rise directly into the prestigious A Division for the 2026 season — a testament to the squad’s discipline and determination.
With this momentum, Old Joes Hockey Club looks ahead with confidence as they prepare to compete at the highest tier of Colombo hockey.

“As President of Old Joes Hockey Club, I could not be prouder of this historic achievement. Winning back-to-back championships and progressing from C Division to A Division within just two years is a true reflection of the commitment and dedication of our players and coaches,” Jude Travis de Rose, President of Old Joes Hockey Club said.
“My heartfelt thanks go to our support staff and most importantly, to our players who juggle many commitments yet continue to give their best for the club. I also wish to specially acknowledge our current school team players who stepped up admirably to play alongside the old boys, showing tremendous spirit and unity,” he added.
