Visakha Vidyalaya grabbed the Under 13 girls’ title defeating Bishops’ College at the Inter-School Tennis Championship held at the SLTA courts today. Meanwhile, S.Thomas’ College, Maliyadeva College, Ananda College & Royal College qualified for the boys’ final segment.
Under 13 Girls
On the second day of action, Visakha Vidyalaya and Ave Maria Convent emerged winners of groups A & B respectively. The two sides were joined in the semi-finals by their respective group runners-up, Bishop’s College and St. Joseph’s College Negombo.
At the end of the group stage, the standing looked as follows;

Meeting in the semis, Visakha Vidyalaya topped Ave Maria Convent, winning 3-0 while in the other semi-final, Bishop’s College defeated St. Joseph’s Nugegoda with the same score line.
In the final, which was worked off shortly after, Visakha Vidyala defeated the Bishopians 3-1 to claim the title.
Under 13 Boys
The boys also played in two groups with traditional rivals S.Thomas’ College, Mt. Lavinia and Royal College topping Group A and B respectively. They were joined in the semi-finals by Ananda College and Maliyadeva College, Kurunegala, who emerged runners-up of the two groups.
