The second One Day International between the Sri Lankan Women and South African Women has been suspended due to rain and is to be continued on a reserved day.

Sri Lanka Women won the toss and elected to bat on a gloomy day in Colombo (SSC).

The Sri Lanka Women got off to a fine start as Chamari Atapattu and Prasadani Weerakkody building a 67 run partnership for the first wicket. Prasadani Weerakkody was the first to be dismissed as she was caught by Moseline Daniels off the bowling of Yolani Fourie for a well constructed 36 off 55 balls including 4 fours. Sri lanka Women lost two wickets in quick succession as they were reduced to 73 for 3.

Hasini Perera joined Chamari Atapattu as the pair added a further 111 runs for the fourth wicket and stabilised the Sri Lankan Innings. Hasini Perera was the fourth Sri Lankan wicket to fall as she was dismissed for 43 off 69 balls with 4 boundaries as the Sri Lankan score read 184 for 4 in the 45th over.

With the loss of Hasini Perera Sri Lanka could not manage to add any stability as  the next four batswomen were dismissed for single figure scores. Chamari Atapattu top scored for the Sri Lankan Women with a magnificent 106 off 151 balls including 11 fours to guide Sri Lanka Women to a respectable 209 for 9 in 50 over.

The second innings (South Africa Women) of the match did not get begin as the heavens opened up. The game has been suspended due to rain and is to be continued on a reserved day.
