In a landmark move that saw Women’s Cricket being given new impetus, Sri Lanka Cricket contracted 30 Women’s cricketers handpicked from the Inter-Provincial Tournaments to train as a National Development Squad in May this year. These cricketers have been provided with an allowance to assist in their travel, equipment and nutritional needs and have been training under the Provincial coaches in a structured national plan.
