Tarindu Udayanga and Sashini Navodya of Lions Aquatic Sports Club Ambalangoda won at the two kilo metre sea swim organized by the Polhena Aquatic Sports Association and held at Polhena recently.
Lions Aquatic Sports Club registred the first fourteen places in the men’s event and S Tharindu Udayanga – 22minutes 40 seconds placed first, second placed occupied by T N Dasun Nayanajith – 23 minutes 21 seconds, 3 J Dhanushka Madushan 23 minutes 25 seconds in the men’s events.
Meawhile in the women’s events was the winners of the womens event were – 1. G Sashini Navodya ( Lions Aquatic Sports Club) – 27 minutes 23 seconds, 2. J W Vihanga Dilmini (Sujatha Vidyalaya) – 33 minutes 11 seconds, 3. H B Hashini Nikeshala Sewwandi ( Ullala Vidyalaya) – 34 minutes 20 seconds.
Six year old Vihanga Dilmini of Sujatha Vidyalaya who finished second in the women’s event was the youngest competitor to finish the course while seven year old M Fuhain Mahamud of St Thomas College Matara was the youngest male to complete the two kilo meter course.
