Team Sri Lanka for World University Games

Sri Lanka will be fielding a team of 25 track and field athletes for the 30th Summer University games which will be held in Napoli, Italy from the 3rd to the 14th of July 2019.

Athletics, which without a doubt is the largest individual sport in the Universiade with over 1000 athletes from around the world competing in 50 disciplines, will also be one of the most competitive sports at the 2019 Summer Universiade. 

Sri Lanka will be a fielding a team of 25 athletes with representations from Sri Jayawardanepura, Sabaragamuwa, Ruhuna, Colombo,Wayamba and Kelaniya Universities.  The Sri Lankan team has been bolstered with the inclusion of athletes in the likes of Roshan Dammika, Omaya Udayangani and Hashini Paboda who are leading athletes in their respective events in the country. Mrs. Samantha Lalanee of Sabaragamuwa University and Mr. W A L Rohanna will be the coaches on tour while Mr. S M A B Samarakoon from Peradeniya University will be the Manager on tour.

The rack and field events of the competition will be held from 8th of July to 13th of July at the San Palo Stadium in Napoli.
