Squads named for SLC Super Provincial Limited-Over Tournament

The SLC Super Provincial Limited-Over Tournament will get underway on April 9th with the participation of four teams as preparation for the ICC Champions Trophy.

Four teams namely Colombo, Galle, Dambulla and Kandy will play each other twice in the first round and the top two teams on points will then advance for the final scheduled on 30th April.

“We’re talking about the ICC Champions Trophy. About 60 players – including those from the national side will be in action. It will be a preparation for the Champions Trophy.” SLC Vice-President K. Mathivanan said.

Players such as Angelo Mathews, Niroshan Dickwella, Asela Gunarathne and Lasith Malinga have not been named due to injuries and IPL commitments.

The first set of matches will be day matches while the second set of games will be played under lights at Dambulla and R. Premadasa, including the final on the 30th of April.

Colombo – Dinesh Chandimal, Ashan Priyanjan, Lahiru Thirimanne, Thisara Perera, Dilshan Munaweera, Angelo Perera, Kithruwan Vithanage, Shehan Jayasuriya, Sachithra Senanayake, Kasun Madushanka, Dushmantha Chameera, Vishwa Fernando, Jeffrey Vandersay, Wanindu Hasaranga, Alankara Asanka.

Kandy – Chamara Kapugedara, Mahela Udawatte, Danushka Gunathilake, Hashan Dumindu, Sandun Weerakkody, Charith Asalanka, Dilhan Cooray, Sachith Pathirana, Amila Aponso, Ramith Rambukwella, Lahiru Madushanka, Shaminda Eranga, Lahiru Gamage, Nuwan Pradeep, Isuru Udana.

Galle – Upul Tharanga, Dimuth Karunarathne, Dhananjaya De Silva, Sadeera Samarawickrama, Sammu Ashan, Yashoda Lanka, Minod Bhanuka, Chathuranga De Silva, Seekkuge Prasanna, Malinda Pushpakumara, Akila Dhananjaya, Dasun Shanaka, Chamika Karunarathne, Vikum Sanjaya, Suranga Lakmal.

Dambulla – Kusal Janith Perera, Kusal Mendis, Udara Jayasundera, Milinda Siriwardena, Avishka Fernando, Bhanuka Rajapaksa, Harsha Cooray, Lahiru Milantha, Dilruwan Perera, Suraj Randiv, Lakshan Sandakan, Nuwan Kulasekara, Asitha Fernando, Binura Fernando, Lahiru Kumara.
