Here’s a roundup of the matches which took place in the SLC Tier B Premier League Tournament today.
Galle CC v Bloomfield CC
Galle CC took major honours in this drawn encounter at Galle Stadium today. The visitors won the toss and elected to field first. The hosts used the conditions well and managed to post 219 all out for their first innings. Harsha Vithana was the standout batsman with a brilliant 98 off 179 balls. He came in at 3 for 22 and saved the innings for Galle. Thilan Thushara and Madushan Ravichandrakumar bagged three wickets each.
In response, Bloomfield was never in the game. Apart from opening batsman, Asantha Singappulli who carried his bat through the innings and remained unbeaten on 46, no one else went past the 20 run mark as they got cleaned up for 128 runs. It was unsurprisingly, the spinners who shared the wickets for the hosts.

With a lead of 91 runs in favour of them, Galle came on to bat for the second innings. This time the whole batting line up contributed with valuable cameos as they made 216 all out for their 2nd innings. Sameen Kandanearachchi top scored with 51 runs. Aravinda Premamratna was the pick of the bowlers with 5 for 43.
Bloomfield was given a target of 308 runs. They were doing well at 91 for 2 but a cluster of wickets made things interesting. They were in all sorts at 197 for 9 with more than 15 overs remaining on the day. Both Dilan Jayalath and Aravinda Premaratna survived 109 balls to save their team from a defeat as umpires called off play.

Lankans CC v Panadura SC
Lankans took honours in a drawn match against Panadura SC today at Panagoda. Panadura SC won the toss and elected to field first. Lankans put together a decent performance as they posted 295 for their first innings. Shifran Muthaliph and Lahiru Dilshan scored half centuries.
In reply, the home side fell short as they got cleaned up for 267. Mishen Silva was the pick of the batsmen with a splendid 72. Thimira Jayasinghe also chipped in with a valuable half ton. Geeth Kumara and Ayantha De Silva picked up 3 wickets each.

With the deficit in favour of them, Lankans came out with intent. Few quick cameos from the top order and Usama Mir top scored with an unbeaten 77. They declared their innings at 255 for 7 which gave the home side a target of 284 runs.
The home side didn’t have enough time to chase it and they weren’t troubled much as they ended the match at 117 for 4.

Navy SC v Air Force SC
Air Force took first innings honours in the drawn game against Navy SC at Katunayake today. After winning the toss, the visitors decided to bat first. They were cleaned up for 190 with Roscoe Thattil taking a 4- for. Only two men stood out for the sailors. Tharushan Iddamalgoda and Dushan Hemantha who scored half centuries.

In response, 269 was what the hosts managed to make. Once again it was their most dependable player, Roscoe Thattil who played the anchor role and top scored with an unbeaten 59. Sachika Udara too got a 51 while Kaushalya Gajasinghe scored 45 runs.
With a deficit of 79 runs against them, Navy has their work cutout. This time they responded well and managed to post 316 runs. Supun Leelarathna top scored with a brilliant 124 while the rest of the batsman batted around him. Dushan Hemantha was once again amongst the runs with a valuable 43.
Air men were given a target of 238 runs and they were in a spot of bother at stumps on 183 for 7.
