This Group D encounter took place at Dharmapala College Grounds today. The hosts won the toss and elected to bat first. They were cleaned up for 200 runs with Pasindu Thennakoon taking 4 wickets. Dulaj Ashen was the top scorer for Dharmapala with 67 runs.

Maliyadewa College v St Benedict’s College
Maliyadewa College hosted St Benedict’s in their Group A match today. The home side won the toss and elected to field first. Shehan Fernando was the highlight of the day. His knock of 123 propelled the Bens to 291 runs in their first innings.
Maliyadewa College were 37 for 1 at stumps on Day 1, still trailing by 255 runs.

St Peter’s College v St Sebastian’s College
Santhush Gunathilake’s third century on the trot gave St Peter’s College the upper hand on Day 1 in their match against St Sebastian’s College at Bambalapitiya. Nuwanidu Fernando won the toss and elected to field first. Bhanuka and Dinith put together a half century stand for the 1st wicket. Bhanuka was dismissed for 41 and after the wickets of the two openers, Santhush and Ranmith put together a mammoth 187 runs for the 3rd wicket.
They’ve made a habit of scoring runs together as Santhush reached his 5th century of the season and third on the trot. Ranmith was looking good to score his first but was dismissed for 88.
After declaring for 330, the Peterites bowling attack led by Tariq Saboor tightened the screws on the Sebs top order. Santhush was on the act again as he threw the stumps down to get the first break and then Tariq picked up two wickets in two balls.

Nalanda College v D S Senanayaka College
Another Group D encounter took place at Nalanda College Grounds today. The hosts took on D S Senanayaka College. It was the Nalanda College skipper Lakshitha Rasanjana who won the toss and elected to bat first. He continued his good form with the bat as he scored a magnificent 141 to help his team post 309 runs. Moksha Sankalpa chipped in with 55 runs.
