Mobitel and CDB Tops Day Six

Four matches were played on the sixth day of the Mercantile Basketball League 2016. Here`s an insight on what happened.

IFS R&D International v Amana Bank

The E Division encounter between IFS R&D International and Amana Bank was played at Hendry Pedris courts. It was a tight contest between the two as Amana Bank only led the game by a couple of points at half-time. The score board read 21-23.

Prabath added twelve points followed by seven points from Nadun for IFS R&D International. Najath top scored in the game with fifteen points for Amana Bank and his team-mate Giwantha added ten points.

Both teams continued the momentum into the second half of the game. Amana Bank added twenty-one points while IFS R&D International added seventeen points. After a close game of basketball Amana Bank registered a victory as the final score card read 43-40.


Citizens Development Business v Copal Amba

The second E Division match of the day of was played at the same venue. CDB started proceedings off comfortably and lead the game 21-14 at lemons.

Randika added twenty-four points for CDB and top scored in the game. Sandun chipped in with six points. Lakshan scored nine points for Copal Amba.

Continuing their dominance, CDB registered victory with a comfortable ten-point margin. The final score board read 39-29.


Abans Group v Sarva Intergrated

Another encounter in the E Division bracket was played at the Otters Aquatic Club. Both teams went into the game with the traditional jump ball start as Abans Group only led the game by a close margin of three points at half time.

Prabath added fifteen points for Abans Group while Roy scored another ten. Sajith top scored in the game by scoring twenty-four points for Sarva Integrated.

Abans Group added another twenty-two points into the second half of the game in reply to the nineteen points of Sarva Intergrated. Capitalizing on the early lead, Abans Group won the game by six points as the final score board read 41-35.


Aitken Spence v Mobitel

The final match of the day was played at the Otters Aquatic Club; another match in the E Division bracket. Mobitel maintained full control of the game as they led the game by eight points at half time (22-14).

Anuruddha added ten points for Aitken Spence while Shahif scored nine points. Koshan did most of the scoring for Mobitel top scoring in the game with twenty-nine points. Thilina chipped in with nine points.

Adding thirty points into the second half Mobitel dominated the game as Aitken Spence only managed to score twenty-six points in reply. The full time score card read 52-35.
