Former Royalist Coloursman Poorna Aluthge met with a fatal accident in the Delkanda area last evening.

According to sources, Aluthge is supposed to have been on the way to practices along with one of his teammates when the bike they were travelling on had collided with oncoming traffic. Details regarding the exact injuries Aluthge suffered are unclear but it is rumoured that severe trauma to the head is what caused his death.

Aluthge has represented both Saracens SC and Burgher Recreation Club in the club arena.

The right arm off spinner was also a member of the Royal College team that won the Royal-Thomian ‘Battle of the Blues’ in the year 2013.
