MAS Casualline, Sri Lanka Ports Authority (SLPA), Air Force SC and Army SC booked semifinal places at the end of the ‘Outdoor Segment’ of the 10th Munchee National Volleyball Championship 2017 Women’s Super League group stage.

The matches were played at multiple venues across the country including Puttalam (Koswadiya & Anamaduwa), Gampaha (Radawana), Seeduwa (Raddoluwa), Gampaha (Radawana), Rathnapura (Kahawatta) and Kegalle (Galigamuwa).
In a group top decider, Air Force SC, as they did in the first round, came from two sets down to defeat SLPA 3-2. The first two sets went into sudden death. SLPA won the 1st 28-30 and the 2nd 26-28. However, Air Force, armed with many national players, stormed back to win the next three sets 25-10, 25-15 and 15-10.
SLPA was involved in another 5 setter, this time against Navy SC. On this occasion SLPA gave Navy a taste of their own medicine, to win from two sets down. Navy won the 1st and 2nd sets 16-25 & 23-25 respectively. SLPA fought back winning the rest 25-15, 25-18 & 15-12.

Army and MAS Casualline was involved in an entertaining three set match. The first set went over 30 points where Army emerged with the win 33-31. The next two set win were rather easy for the soldiers, 25-20 & 25-22.
Last year’s runner-up, MAS Casualline comfortably defeated NYSC 25-8, 25-16 & 25-14.
