Akila & Kusal ruled out of T20I clash

Sri Lanka’s ace limited over spinner, Akila Dananjaya and hard-hitting batsman Kusal Perera, both have been ruled out of the only T20I match against England, which is scheduled to be played on Saturday night at R. Premadasa International Cricket Stadium.

Dananjaya has picked up a quadriceps injury during the fifth and final ODI match in which he took 4 wickets for 19 runs in Sri Lanka’s massive 219-run win (D/L method) against the world number one ranked England, team manager Charith Senanayake confirmed to ThePapare.com

Left-handed Perera who was sidelined for the last three ODIs for the same injury (Quadriceps) has failed to recover after being named in the final squad for the one-off T20I match subject to fitness.

Left-arm spinner Amila Aponso and top order batsman Sadeera Samarawickrama have been named in the squad as replacements.
