Norway produced one of the biggest surprises of the knockout stage by defeating five-time champions Brazil 2-1, setting up a mouth-watering clash against England. The Three Lions also had to dig deep, recovering from behind to beat co-hosts Mexico 3-2 in a thrilling encounter.
Spain ended Cristiano Ronaldo’s World Cup journey with a narrow 1-0 victory over Portugal, extending their remarkable defensive run, while Belgium delivered one of the standout performances of the Round of 16 with a commanding 4-1 win over the Co-Hosts USA.
The drama reached its peak on the final day of the Round of 16. Defending champions Argentina produced an incredible comeback from two goals down to defeat Egypt 3-2, with Lionel Messi inspiring the fightback before Enzo Fernández struck a dramatic stoppage-time winner.

Co-hosts Canada were comprehensively beaten 3-0 by Morocco, Mexico saw their campaign end in heartbreaking fashion after a 3-2 defeat to England while the United States suffered a heavy 4-1 loss to a dominant Belgium. For the first time since the tournament began, none of the host nations remain in contention for the FIFA World Cup trophy, leaving the race for global glory to the final eight teams
