The top-notch somersaults and twists of Chanaka Wickramasinghe took him to the top of the podium at the World Aquatics Masters Championships 2025 in Singapore, flying the Lion Flag high.

Wickramasinghe, the only Masters diver to represent Sri Lanka at this championship, secured the gold medal in the Men’s Platform event and the silver medal in the Men’s 1m Springboard event in the 40–44 age category.

The diving events of the championships commenced on August 17 at the OCBC Aquatics Centre.

In addition to diving, a team of 26 swimmers represented the country, marking Sri Lanka’s debut appearance in swimming at the World Aquatics Masters stage. The swimming events were held earlier, from August 7 to 13, at the OCBC Aquatics Centre and the World Aquatics Arena in Singapore.

The World Aquatics Masters Championships bring together athletes aged 25 and above, competing across multiple age groups divided into five-year intervals.
