Western Province - Netball Champions (43rd National Sports Festival)

Western Province became the 43rd National Sports Festival Netball Champions for the 7th consecutive time defeating Central Province 45-41 in the final after an intense battle in Polonnaruwa.

Central Province was leading for much of the final but a furious comeback in the final few minutes from Western Province, scoring 5 unanswered points, saw them securing the win. Chathurangani Jayasooriya captained while Sandya Wickramasinghe was the coach of Western Province.

Western Province led 12-10 at the end of the first quarter before Central Province took a 20-22 lead going into half time. They increased the lead to 4 points at 31-35 at the end of the 3rd quarter with the hopes of ending the 6-year long hoodoo but Western Province had a bit extra in the latter stages to overcome the scare outscoring Central Province 14-6.

Hasitha Mendis of Western Province was named the Player of the Tournament. In the semi-finals, Central Province defeated Southern Province 58-37 while Western Province routed North Central Province 79-21.

Southern Province defeated North Central Province 58-29 to secure the 3rd place.
