Lack of partnerships hurt Wesley College deeply as hosts St. Sebastian’s College produce a spirited bowling effort to restrict former for 180 in their U-19 school cricket match which began at Moratuwa this morning.

At stumps St. Sebastian’s were none for none.

Wesley, batting first got off to a poor start when their opener A Kaluarchchi was departed for a duck in the eight ball of their innings. Kavindu Bandarathilake launched a lone battle to rescue the innings with a fighting half century after they were reduced for 12 for two but St. Sebastian’s hit them hard with regular wickets to put them under pressure. Bandarathilake hit 55 off 134 balls with seven boundaries while Andrew Parais made 38. Isuru Mendis and Lahiru Heshan took three wickets each while Kusal Lakthilina took two for 18 including those of openers.
