The traditional encounter between Ananda College, Colombo and St. Anthony’s College, Katugastota ended in a draw today (25th May) at St. Anthony’s College Grounds in Kandy.

Ananda College posted 259 runs for the first innings in reply to St. Anthony’s 359 as Nethma Karunaratne stroked a brilliant century. Karunaratne made 132 runs off 182 balls with 17 fours and 2 sixes.

Asitha Wanninayake was the top performer with the ball for the hosts as he snared 5 wickets for 63 runs. The Antonians began their second innings 42 runs ahead and posted 135/5 as Lahiru Abeysinghe who made an impressive 48 runs in the first innings bettered his efforts with the bat scoring a classy half-century.
