Four matches of the U19 Division 1 Limited Overs Tournament worked off today (20th March) at several venues across the island.
De Mazenod College stunned Trinity College, one of the strongest teams in the U19 Schools Cricket Tournament registering a 5-wicket win. Senash Fernando (81) and Mithul Senerath (70*) who stroked half-tons played a pivotal role in De Mazenod College’s win.
Thurstan College crushed Ananda College registering a massive 206-run win. Upul Hettiarachchi (54) and Thanuga Palihawadana (3/11) were the chief architects of Thurstan College’s impressive victory.
In the other two encounters worked off today, Maliyadeva College and Moratu Maha Vidyalaya registered wins over Prince of Wales College and St. Servatius College respectively.
