Four games of the SLSCA U19 Schools Cricket Tournament 2021/22 were worked off today (10) around the Island.
Eveen Kalhara of Maris Stella College was in charge of an onslaught against Mahinda College batting unit as Kalhara bagged a fifer while his partner-in-crime Hansaja Hiruna walked back with 4 wickets to his name.
Their performance with the ball shot out Mahinda College for just 62 runs as Maris Stella won the game by 119 runs.
Next to these two was the left-arm spinner from Mahanama College, Devindu Kekirideniya who shone with the ball. The Mahanamian bagged 4 scalps for 15 runs.
In batting, Sri Lanka U19 cap, Jeewaka Shasheen scored an unbeaten 91 to grab the limelight. He helped his team, Devapathiraja College, post 205 runs against Moratu Vidyalaya.
In reply to the Rajans’ score, the Moratuwa boy, Dineth Sithumina smacked an unbeaten 89 runs, but his efforts were not enough to get them over the line.
Koojana Perera of Mahanama College also posted 84 runs to his name to make it to the top run-getters list for today.
