Five matches in the Singer Schools ‘Under 19 Division 1’ Two Day Cricket Tournament 2019/20 were concluded today while the encounter between Royal College and St. Benedict’s College got underway in Colombo.

The all-round brilliance of Muditha Lakshan helped D.S. Senanayake College register a comprehensive innings win over Maris Stella College in their Group A encounter which ended today at Army Grounds in Panagoda. Muditha Lakshan scored 190 runs with the bat while taking 6 scalps for 93 runs with the ball.

Royal College, Colombo vs St. Benedict’s College, Colombo

The Group A encounter between Royal College and St. Benedict’s College commenced today at St. Benedict’s College Grounds in Colombo. After being put into bat first, the visitors were bundled out for just 109 runs with Kavindu Chathuranga top scoring with a half-ton.

Akindu Karunarathna and Onila Pathirana picked up 3 wickets each for St. Benedict’s College. In reply, the hosts also struggled with the bat as they finished day one on 122 runs for 9 wickets. Match will continue tomorrow for day two.
