U19 Cricket – Heavy rain disrupts Anto-Kingswood game

The match between St.Anthony’s College, Katugastota and Kingswood College, Kandy concluded with no decision owing to heavy a downpour that interrupted play yesterday (17.10.2015).

Kingswood won the toss and invited the opposition to bat first. The Antonians, playing in their home grounds, put up a decent total of 184 all out in 53.5 overs. Diyon Stouter bashed a blistering 68, including ten boundaries and three mammoth sixes. The pick of the bowlers for Kingswood was Avishka Chandrasiri who claimed five wickets for 42 runs.

Resuming on the overnight score of 63 for 3 wickets, Kingswood went on to score 153 for the loss of 7 in reply before the game was called off due to bad weather.

Playing the anchor role for Kingswood, Dilshan Walisundara stroked a useful 61 while opener Meedum Weerasinghe chipped in with 32. Pacies Janidu Himsara and Pradeep Dharmarathne bagged 2 wickets each for St. Anthony’s.
