History
Thurstan College boasts a proud rugby legacy, cultivated over six decades since adopting the sport in 1957. Over the years, they’ve built a strong tradition, highlighted by winning the coveted President’s Trophy in 1998 and the Abdul Jabbar Shield in 2005. More recently, Thurstan secured the Premier Trophy in 2016, 2018, and as double champions in Division 1 Segment B in 2023, underscoring their consistent competitive spirit.

Current Outfit
This year, Thurstan College will carry valuable experience from their 2024 season. While a few players from the previous year’s squad have moved on, the core of the team remains intact, positioning the 2025 squad to significantly improve their game.
For the 2025 season, Thurstan College will be guided by Hansa Indramala as captain, with Esitha Apoorwa and Vinuka Hejitha serving as co-vice captains.

The Thurstanites are led by the experienced Shamly Nawaz as Head Coach, with Ranuka Madagedara overseeing the Forwards and Saliya Hadapangoda serving as the Backs Coach.
