Three players from St.Henry’s College, Ilavalai have been picked for the Sri Lanka Schools U19 squad.

The three players selected are Jude Suban, A.Mathushan and Anthony Ramesh who will be a part of the 20 player squad for the 2016 Asian Schools’ Football Championship which will be held in Korea next month.

Suban, brother of current Sri Lanka national player Gnanaruban Vinoth, and Mathushan were also part of the squad that travelled to China last year and participated in the AFC U19 Championship Qualifiers, while Ramesh’s good performance at the recent Schools’ Football Championship has earned him a place in the squad.

Suban and Mathushan play club football for 2014 Dialog Champions League winners Solid SC from Anuradhapura.

After the war ended a few years ago St. Henry’s College, one of the giants in Schools’ Football in the past, has taken major steps in bringing back past glory with the Kotmale Chox U19 Schools Football Championship win against holders Zahira College, defeating them 3-1 in the final.
