The 85th Annual Two-Mile Sea Swim Championships 2024

The 85th Annual Mount Lavinia Sea Swim concluded yesterday at the Mount Lavinia Hotel, with St. Josephs and Lyceum International School gaining more honours.

Chanudi Kumarapperuma from Lyceum International School, Nugegeoda, won the open women’s category first place, while Anjali Agalawatte of Zeefit Sports Club placed 2nd, and Sehara Anuhansi of Sri Devananda College- Ambalangoda finished 3rd

The open men’s race was won by Methvan Fernando, the 2nd place by Akash Prabashwa, both from St. Joseph’s College and 3rd place by Theekshana Se Silva of Sri Devananda College- Ambalangoda.

The under-15 girls’ individual championship was won by Suhansa Gamage of Musaeus College. 2nd place by Kaneisha De Silva of St. Bridget’s Convent, and 3rd place by Iman Thambydorai of Ladies’ College.

Kewan Ranepura of Lyceum International School Gampaha became the winner of the under-15 race. At the same time, K. K. V. M. S. Silva of Dharmashoka College – Ambalangoda finished 2nd and Joel Darshana of St. Josephs College became 3rd.

The 2 Mile Sea Swim races were run by the Sri Lanka Aquatic Sports Union officials with the support of the Sri Lanka Navy, Coast Guard, and Sri Lanka Life Saving Association.
