With the intention of creating a new competent generation of Table Tennis players in future, the Table Tennis Association of Sri Lanka have laid out a plan to conduct coaching camps which they hope for a positive outcome in the sport.

TTASL moved towards the northern part of the country in the beginning of this year to cause curiosity among the young upcoming players from Vauniya and Jaffna and provide them courage and motivation to make a big impact towards Table Tennis in Srilanka.

The Table Tennis Association of Sri Lanka together with the Vavuniya District Table Tennis Association and Jaffna District Table Tennis Association successfully organized Coaching camps in Vavuniya on 12th January and in Jaffna on 13th January 2013. It was another milestone achieved in development of TT in Sri Lanka, as it had a great participation compared to the previous coaching camps held in the North of the country.

These two camps were entirely sponsored by Mr. Manzil Muthalib, Chairman

of the Coaching & Development Committee, TTASL.  Mr.Thushara Sampath,

Manzil Muthalib, J Mohan, and Mr.Chandana Perera conducted the training camps in Vauniya and Jaffna.

Players from these two Districts especially Girls showed a tremendous interest in the game. This may be due to that fact that they have been deprived of any activities due to the war for a long time and now they are eager come out and show their talents. So it is a great step taken by Sri Lanka Table Tennis association to bring out a good generation of table teniss players in the future from every corner of the country.
