The Inter Club Fencing Championship II took place on 9th September at Mawathagama with the participation of 101 fencers competing in 3 open categories.
This is the 5th installment of the tournament which was initiated in 2012 and is proudly hosted by The Hela Fencing Club in collaboration with The National Association of Fencing, Sri Lanka. The Hela Fencing Club hosts the prestigious event with the hope of bettering the local talent and to allow the fencers a chance to earn ranking points which in turn will aid their national standings. Hela Fencing Club is nurturing young and old talent together in taking Fencing to the next level in Sri Lanka.
The 10-man troupe from the Slimline Fencing Club took home the most number of wins with 1 Gold, 1 Silver and 2 third place victories in the overall winnings. Linea Fencing Club emerged on top with two gold medals in the Men’s Epee and Women’s Epee categories.
